Power Steering Hose
Hi all.
I need a new power steering hose for my 2wd sapphire I'm rebuilding. It's the hose from the pump (banjo fitting) to the rack (furthest left connection as you look at it from front of car). It's a thick hose with shielding around it.
Question is, can you still get this hose from Ford? Or does anyone know of anyone who makes an aftermarket replacement? (preferably in blue to match the rest of the engine bay hoses)

£120???? F#ck me sideways! It only reaches across the engine bay - about 4ft if that! I know I cant use standard silicon hose as the fluid will rot it, but surely someone makes some shielded hose that will do it?
Might have to use Tab's idea and have one made.
Only need one cos the banjo fitting fractured and broke off, the hose is fine. Don't think it'll stretch or I'd just have another fitting put on.

Just get the banjo fitting silver soldered(it's actually braized but called soldered), the join with this technique is awsome, monumentally stronger than oe ford joins, I did this also to my 2 turbo water feed/return pipes, just use OPA, can get this braided if you want, I think braid looks tacky but each to their own and all that.

Thanks for the advice on this thread guys. I called Paul @ North Yorks on Monday and he had one delivered to me on Wednesday for what I deem to be a very good price and it just needs cleaning up a bit as it's going on a fresh rebuild.

I did what tabs said, ie get it braized back on years ago on my old cossie and it was fine!! only cost about £10 too so worth getting your old one repaired mate.
Failing that why not buy a new bango fitting with a male end to it so you can push a hose on, the same diameter roughly as the metal hose it snapped off of, then all you have to do is get a rubber hose that is steering oil proof to join the 2!!!
Must be some out there as i know you can no get a silicon replacement hose for the reservior to pump fitting!!!
