ABS light on

Mine was a dry connection - the one on the chassis rail behind the turbo shield etc on the drivers side. My mates was a frayed wire on the level sensor... so it read like like not enough fluid as per Jons suggestion.
I have removed a totally split sensor off a mates car that amazingly still worked, though not when we tried to refit it unfortunately. There is a resistance check that i have heard about on here - but Jon would probably know more about that than I??

is the light on straight away or does it come on when you start moving?
straight away and its either a sensor failed, or brake fluid level. check the resistance of all the sensors with a multimeter, should be about 1k ohms.
when moving its a sensor not picking up, ie. covered in crap.

Clean the trigger wheels on the drive shafts, I had a bad tooth on a rear one that had somehow become damaged and it would do this from time to time, not since filing the tooth back to remove edges, it couldn't see a gap.
