Oil pump driveshaft?
Just took the dizzy out and the shaft that drives the oil pump seems very loose from side to side.Is this normal?

Yes that is normal, it will flop from side to side in the "hole".

+1 the dizzy holds it in place . only ever use a ford part as i put a no ford one in a motor 300miles later it snaped in two
