hi all
I got a set of 3 gauges from matt on here, well chuffed getting round to fitting them now, I take it as they are in a plate that looks like the air vents at the top center of dash, they go there, but how do you go about fitting said plate, i mean from the start, removing air vents , what do i need to remove and how far down do i go, do i block off the vents? at an easy to reach point, also how does the plate with the gauges in it stay put in the air vent hole left, as i dont see any screw holes or clips
any help would be appreciated

First thing you must do its totally block off the large hole on the heater box where the pipe between it and the vents go, otherwise you lose loads of heat behind the dash, mine wasn't blocked off when I bought my car, was a cold day and the heater was crap as all the pressure was being lost though the vent output on the heater box.
I don't know what people do to secure the gauges in the hole, but I would most likely either make some small metal brackets to secure each side, or use some mastic to stick some wood blocks under the edge of the metal plate and push in till snug fit.

great tabetha, what is the best way to get at the heater box? from the footwell or behind stereo/amp holes, will give it a go soon

You can do it quite easy if you have small hands, mine are like spades!!, so I can't do it easy but from the hole where the gauges are going should be able to reach in and down, use some decent tape like cloth tape to cover would be easy enough, if not rry going through from the clock/warning light bit underneath.

i will use gorilla tape. what do you think of these secs monitors, worth having? instead of gauges etc i would need one that you just plugged in between ecu and plug,

Secs monitors are excellent, don't like them myself but they are a excellent product and idea, I just prefer a few gauges personally.

I've got gauges and secs monitor and gives peace of mind as can see exactly what's happening at a glance. Secs is also useful for seeing when a sensor is out and for testing tps.

I don't need the sensor testing bit, as I'm after market ecu just plug lappy in, need to use this when setting tps anyway, only 30 secs on the lappy to set up wherever it's put on.
