rebuilding cosworth for 500bhp
ive just started to take my engine apart to rebuild it to 500bhp.
im having the head ported, having my 200 block fitted with moutune 6 stud kit, arp mains, rods, and flywheel. having piston cooling jets put in. standard 4x4 pistons with valve cut out, and standard 4x4 rods. wrc head gasket. siemans black injectors. bd10 cams.
will i be able to achieve 500bhp with this work carried out? and are bd10 cams ok for 500bhp?
thanks

A cheaper alternative to a new cam is to have your existing cam reground, as the existing cam has been work hardened by being used it will be perfect, I've used regrinds over 25 years without any issue, even in pinto's doing 9K rpm, cost around £50-£60, having a pinto profile put on me other halfs astra 1.4 8v, these work well on these.

The person I use has his own blanks, as well as making his own con rods, and two engine dynos, 2 chassis dynos, and 54 years experience, his own toy room as I call it, the machinary is immense that he has.
Only charges £40 to cut pockets in all 4 pistons(not each), so I like him!!
