Cosworth starting problems
Where do i start lol
I have rebuilt my 3dr cosworth up useing a E plate saff for the engine and box, so i knew it run and drove before removal.
I installed a brand new ryan loom
Everything on the build going fine.
The big day came to start her up and nothing, turned over and over, no spark.
I checked a for spark by putting plug lead in the end of the lead on top of rocker cover and the car half started on first click. I put the plug and lead back in and we were in business.
My car sat and ticked over no probs throughout the nxt few days, on sundat i had a few things to put on the car, turbo hanger and other bits and bobs. We were trying to get my front o/s indicator to work putting new bulb in etc, got it working and went to fire the car and nothing.
Its back to no spark out of the coil, i have no dash illumination lights now and only the n/s front and rear lights work.
My head was now staring to spin lol
I did a bit of digging and thought i would change the ignition amp on n/s inner wing, mine was grey but found one in my stash of spares but its black, thought i would try it and it ran first turn of the key. I put the grey one back on and it wouldnt run, black one on again and its a runner, although rougher than before.
I now have headlights and no dash illumination.
I think i have resided myself to the fact its going to an auto electrician.
I have checked earths etc and they seem fine so after that im a bit lost.
Does anyone know what the differance between black and grey ignition amps are ??
