You can get new metal universal joints, but you can also get replacement steering rubber flexy bit made out of poly, Ł35 delivered, concept-racing on ebay, if this is shagged.
Most play is generally the lower bush that fits in the shell itself, on the triangular shaft, very common problem, about Ł3-Ł4 for a new bush, 10 mins to fit easy job.

I find occasionally the spring washes type thing that holds the rubber bush in place on the triangular shaft shifts away from the bush. 2mins with a pair of pliers sorts it. Worth checking its not this 1st.

You unfortunately are the 3rd one, out of over 100 sold, seems a batch of the material they were made from was not doing what it should.
I can tell you the suppliers of the material are well aware of the situation following urgent talks, and a FREE replacement will be supplied to ALL who have purchased these, even the ones that haven't had any issues, as CR would rather not take any chances, safety is first and formost.
They are being made from a totally new material, but can't say what it is as can't remember(old age).
He may not be there today, as one 1/2 of CR is away in spain, but I can tell you, he will not sell any more or replace any until the new formula ones are ready.
Please accept my appologies for this, but please remember your safety is CR's prime concern.
Please pm me your name and tel no, as I'm there monday so will ensure they are aware, and even ring you myself if need be.

It's very hard to say, but as soon as the NEW ones are ready you will be sent one FOC, as a precaution, anyone who has any difficulties please pm me immediately.
As I say over 100 sold, some used in competition with non pas and super wide wheels on cars so have a lot more strain going through them and show no signs of trouble at all.
I will chase up the new batch on monday, and report back on this thread.

No probs matey, spoke to him tonight, will chase up new stock monday, as have other things to chase, be glad to get me cossie back on the road for some decent mpg, as using 4wd at the mo, which is good just not as good, and costs a packet to fill with a 80 litre tank!!
Glad you liked the customer service, VERY detailed diy fitting of hydraulic clutch with lots of piccies coming soon, just waiting on the reinforcement plates being laser cut by mate.

YES the 4wd uses a solid joint, seems ford knew this would be aproblem, so nothing to worry about with 4wd link bits.
CR was using the same poly joint bit on his own car, that he supplies, will all be sorted soon.

So concept racing dont seem to reply to messages or indeed even pick up the phone. I have been trying to call them since last thursday and no response heres a quote from the advert.
“Concept Racing Products have been using these in various amounts of race cars over the last 12 months, These bushing improve steering and are very strong compared the standard rubber bushes that perish and also fail MOT often”.
Thanks concept racing for fucking my car..................... the bush did even last two months let alone an mot…

EVERYONE who has purchased one will be sent one as soon as the new ones are done, I am going in the morning to the makers, and can assure CR and myself like this no more than anyone else.
TWO new compounds are being cast asap, literally within minutes of the stuff coming in, the one compound we knew would do the job is sourced only from the us, and is about to be declared illegal due to poisenous fumes given off by one part of the tri mix liquids used, the makers now have a vacuum oven, as well as respirators and are commited to sorting these problems, as soon as poss.
Can people please just tell me what colours they were using ?, CR once running properly will be offering a increased range of goods, and I'm sure the CR team wouldn't be averse to a discount for those afflicted with bad bushes as a way of compensation.
Is there anything for cossie that you would like to see offered/made that currently are not offered by anyone ?
It is entirely possible of course to put in a solid type joint such as the 4wd had, I know this is no concellation.
Any ideas for parts please pm as I don't want to break any trader rules, as I get nothing out of this.
I had trouble all weekend getting hold of CR, I know he went away at the w/e, so assume he was in a bad reception area, as I've always had a call back after leaving messages.
