Default 4x4 inlet

Ive got a 4x4 inlet cover in the garage with a reyland 14mm spacer.

I was looking at it compared to the wank 2wd one which is fitted, im wondering what the options are...

Is it worth fitting the spacer to the 2wd as im lazy ?

Can i fit the cover to the 2wd bottom part so i can keep the rail etc ?

whats the score with the throttle body as it doesnt look like it will fit with the 2wd tps ?

cheers paul

Right mate i just done mine -

Keep the bottom part

fit the spacer

fit the outer 4x4 plenum

you will then need a 4x4 fuel rail and fuel regulator as the fitting are different on the plenum cover

cheers matt, im always up for a cheap option

is the only difference between regs, 2wd is joined by pipe & 4x4 has gasket ?

is the mounting of the rail no different then ?

No issues with TPS or throttle - depends on what spacer you bought as the 17mm one from reyland is the best fit as mine went on with no mods what so ever so worth the £70

the 4wd reg bolts onto the rail

mine has beel as in the pic for the last 2+yars without problem and didnt cost a thing whereas if I had got the 4wd bit then thats another £60-70 that I cant spend on carbon bits

all you have to do is kut one of the lugs off the 2wd inlet and have it welded back on the 4x4 inlet have a look at my old 4x4 inlet and you can see lug for the 4x4 at the frunt and 2wd rail in place

Is it the 4x4 fuel rail that has the pressure regulator bolted directly to it rather than through a small bit of hose?

Sorry, forget that, Ive just had a closer look at the pics etc!! and answered my own question!

Ive now got a 4x4 inlet, 14mm space, 4x4 rail & regulator.

The rail and reg has the original ford rubber fuel hoses still connected, will i beable to disconected the 2wd bits and connect these into the inner wing fuel fittings or will it need modding ?

Thats a familiar looking inlet! was on my car until 3 weeks ago! The spacer is a 14mm,i used my standard 2wd throttle body and tps and modded the fuel rail.

started on this today as i had a few hours after work, was a bit of a bitch to get the 2wd bits off, offered up the 4x4 rail and reg and realised it is atchualy much easier to use the 2wd bits.

I need to cut the back bracket slightly to it can be bent a fraction then make a little bracket up for the front one, will get some pics up tomorrow
