Talking Low revs miss-fire/hesitation

Hello team

I have a low RPM hesitation/miss-fire.

When cruising at around 2500-3000 RPM, if I try and gently increse the throttle, I get a hesitation/missfire.

It does clear once I drive through it or increase the throttle, so I am wondering if it's likely to be a worn throttle position sensor.

I have new leads, new dizzy cap, new rotor arm, new spark plugs, phase sensor and crank position sensor gaps are correct. Sure I have good electrical connections and no air leaks.

I'm pretty sure it'll be the original TPS that has done 140,000 miles.

Please let me know how I can accurately diagnose this as being the problem.

1 - What's the best way of measuring TPS voltage?
2 - How do you get leads onto the multiplug to test voltage from?
3 - Is voltage tested with engine running or just ignition on?
4 - What pins on the TPS do you test between?

Thanks!

Sounds like TPS, just disconnect then turn ignition on and check you are getting the refference feed, at 5 volts to start with.
Next onto testing the output, of course it will need connecting but not running, if you don't want to tap into the wires as they pass the edge of the plenum to the tps, then make up a go between lead with connectors.
All you are looking for is a dead patch, as they are a carbon resistor track, the dead spot will likely be just above the idle position, but may not show up on a digi metre.
I had the same problem a slight hesitation which when I turned to a different ecu became a much more pronounced problem that couldn't be driven through even with rollers on no load, the only reason it didn't show up as bad on the L6 was that the L6 was chucking the fuel in, in comparison.
I tested mine and could not get a dead reading with my digi metre anywhere.
