Does the cable adjust or do i have to buy a new one???
Not looked at the car properly yet, but you have to have the pedal MILES up before it bites, can I adjust it somewhere, or is a new cable the best bet???

The cable, or rather the quadrant is self adjusting, the normal problem with them is they can strip the teeth on the adjuster, there are different amount of teeth on the auto adjusters on different fords, not sure how many on cos quadrant.
The easy way to get it to reset and self adjust is lift the pedal, then with your thumb push the quadrant forwards at the top, this will take off the adjustment so when pedal is let go and then pressed a few times it wil click away self adjusting.

I had to fiddle about with mine in the distant past to get it to 'reset' - it's not played up since but if it did I think I'd go for the GGR or or R and B type as in the links above

It's easy enough to make the pedal adjuster-less, with a bit of light fabrication, then use a split nut and motorcycle type adjuster on gearbox bell housing where cable goes through, to set adjustment where you want it then.
The ones Mike(R&B) sell are very good quality though.

mine was doing simular.. turned out to be the pressure plate!

or might be that the cable has stretched and is on the limit of the adjuster !
