Lightbulb standard exhaust cam & bd 10 inlet

does anyone have any experience of the above?

i have been thinking of giving it a try!

my spec is suitable for 400 bhp.

many thanks

n.b. please keep comments related to cams and i know people will say keep the standard cams but surely there should be a difference if the bd 10 inlet pumps in more fuel.

Hi m8.
Ive done a friends escos bt with a bd-12 inlet and 2wd exh manifold, and it is a super upset for a std engine.
Pulls like a std car but where the std tails off @ 5500rpm, this goes almost to the limiter before it tails off.
Wh havent got it rr yet, but wery close now.
Can only recomend it tho

ive had my cossie set up just before RS day at pod at Torque of the devil.
T34 rs500 intercooler and standard cams. i made 335bhp and 363lbft which is awesome set up and pulls really well.
IMAO i would speak to a tuner and ask for there info as they would have seen more results on rollers with different setups and will know the answer

hope this helps

I think the general concensus is that BD10's, fitted as a single or as a pair, give slight improvmements at the very top of the rev range but, the gain is far outweighed by the losses to low and mid-range.

that is why u have 1 bd10 and 1 standard cam so u dont lose bottom down power and u still have the power at the top end!!!!!

You also have a standard turbo and a tiny intercooler ie nothing like a 400bhp spec which mrintex says he has. If he's got a 400bhp spec engine then it must be running at least a T34 and a 500 style intercooler, which will react totaly different to your spec due to having a slower spooling turbo and a greater volume to fill.

please can people now simplify things and say whether they would put a standard bd8 cam or upgrade either to a bd10 or bd12 inlet cam. bearing in mind, the exhaust cam will stay standard.

many thanks for everybody's time and effort!

Hi, I design and manufacture cams for ford engines. I must ask, what do you want to use the car for?

I have a set of BD14 inlet BD10 Exhausts for sale (much below retail price) which i was going to put in an engine but have not had time.. If you are keeping the car on road, this pretty much the limit for road legal vehicles. they are brand new.

If you still want advice, feel free to contact me.

So, cam wise, depends what you want to use the car for!

I'm getting 400bhp with standard cams with 386lb/ft thats with a t34.63 and greys. once the turbo's on song it pulls right upto 8000rpm, it is a low comp with all the usuall work done.
