very common and serious place for saphs to rot
thats what wrote off my old saph a few years back
chech the chassis legs in front of the springs as well as they
usualy crack there as well if they're rotten at the back like yours
its up to yourself if you just want it patched or fully cut out and replaced
either way it needs the full rear beam removed anyhow,
and a quick patch up will get it thru the mot
or a new chassis leg will cost a whole heap more tp sort out
you get what you pay for kinda thing mate
sorry to here about it, as i said, it wrote my car off as i didn't want it
welded that much, i thought it better to reshell
obviously your car so your decision

ye not sure when getting beam, its the passenger side thats got a hole kind of when you look through the trailing arm between spring and beam mount, think outside of it ok,drivers side looks rusted so would do that as well, you reckon plates?or new leg things?thanks col93saphcos

Not a job to do if you can't weld good, not a good one to practise on anyway.
The longest job if you do the whole thing is going to be removing old one and prepping area so it's perfect for welding new one, will be good forever with new one though, will outlast rest of car .

ye think its to big a job for me that, will get her stripped down and see, hole thats visible is about 1/2"x2",will be worse once get in about it for sure tho,a friend thinks he has some 3 to 4mm channel stuff which may fit so heres hoping, when doing it i'll make sure its all solid elsewhere, think diff mount might be a bitch to come off tho, will try get started tonight, thanks col93saphcos

Please remember to fully wax all internal box sections once done
There is a plastic cap under rear seat by abs loom hole fill with wax as this area is double skinned and will and do corrode
