Default dump valve leak

my 2wd saff has a dump valve that leaks air when started from cold, but you only notice it when cold,i dont know what turbo on it till i get it back, the dump valve is a bailey jobby, nice dump valve,it dumps at low revs though and still quite loud,so is it nackered and if it is what would be the best to replace it with?

DV isn't going to cause surgung anyway, if it's knackered its knackered it will be all the time.
Best way to be sure is to temporarily remove it, and put a old sawn down broom handle section in the dv hole, see if it still does it.
Surging suggests the CO needs looking at.
