Default Cossie boost characteristics

Hello people, i'm a Gti-R owner Go easy on me though cos i love cossies

Just posting this on behalf of a friend thats just bought a rwd sapp. Its got a pipercross cone filter, scorpion zorst, stage 1 chip, and light greens.

The boost had been increased using a bleed valve but as theres no boost gauge in the car (yet) he turned the bleed valve right down to be on the safe side.

I plumbed my boost gauge into it this afternoon and set it so that it boosts to 15 psi which is stage 1 boost. Thing is it initially boosts to 15 psi then drops back and holds 11 psi, is this drop normal on cossies?

Or should it be set so it initially goes higher then drops back and holds 15psi? I've set it up the way i mentioned above just to be on the safe side and told him to get it rolling roaded.

HI,
You will need a -31 uprated atuator to hold more stable boost, should loose about 2psi after peaked 15psi, to check close bleed valve and see what boost you get and drop? this is the actuator pressure,

Dave,
Just out of interest, stage 1 is 15 psi. Is this figure peak boost or the boost the car holds when it drops back?

My mates gonna take the car to Woodford garage as soon as possible to get set up properly anyway

I was there from sept 95 to june 99. Only one day a week though

Don't remember seeing either of those cars. I had a white Cav GSI back then.

Yeah i remember Allan cox, he filled in for our lecturer a few times, wasn't he in the welding dept?

Did you know Pete Gingell, Mike Green, and Robin Tett? Oh and did you ever have anything to do with Stu the storeman in the engineering workshop?

Stu was the really awkward one

yea stu was a bit wierd! lol, him and coxy were the best of mates though (a bit to friendly if you ask me )

yep coxy ran the welding dept, he took me for my welding course, he was a good laugh apart from he could talk all day which got a little iritating when you wanted him to do something for you

is pete gingell the tosser who used to take me for CAD? if it is then he is a right prick! he got really stroppy when we started using cad the easy way instead of his crappy city ans gilds way!

you probably didnt see those cars cause they were always parked up around the side of the art and desing block (was doing product design at the time)

ho ho they were the good old days! best thing about taunton........... 5:1 girl to boy ratio was soooooooooooooo easy to pull! lol

Yeah, this has made me remember what a laugh college was I'm always out in Taunton on the piss every weekend Theres still loads of very tidy birds around

Did you know that Stu has an identical twin brother? He lives quite close to me. The only difference is that he's got a tache.
It must of taken me about 6 months to catch on to the fact that they were 2 different people

I used to put it down exceptionly quick growing facial hair
