Secs monitor fitting to l8 ecu.
just got a SECS Monitor and needs fitting.
Can anyone recomend a reputable garage around my area for my secs monitor to be fitted to my ecu (L8).
I was told last night that it has to be soldered to the relevent areas of the ecu for it to run in parallel properly.
I might have a look first to see if it can be done myself but am going towards the idea/ hint of DON'T Fook it up and get a proper job done.
My location is Devon Area.

I did it myself and it was a little bit fiddly. The main problem I had was getting the connectors out. It took me ages to work out you have to depress a little arm using a pin for them to slide out. By that time i'd already wrecked two of the bleeders. Having said that they are cheap and easy enough to replace if you do break any.
But, if you're not sure, for the sake of £70 quid or so it's probably worth getting it done professionally.

i fitted it with no probs. the positive and negative were a pain in the arse as they were so tight next to the end. i didnt solder it in the end i crimped the wires in. did a neat job and shrink wrapped over the end for extra safety.
took the car out for a thrash earlier to get the peak data and set the alarms and limits in. it is a fantastic peice of kit. mine though must be an early model, as it does not have engine speed software in it or the grey wire for it. never mind. thanks for the offers to help me if i got stuck. jtechsaff
