Default Swirl pots

Hey all, was just wondering about these,
i know what they do, and how they do it, but....
Do they make much difference?
Are they really needed?
And will i need one for stage 3?

Cheers!

wont need one for stage 3 mate i am assuming you are talking about a water swirl pot??? it is basically a safety add on that removes air from the water system to stop hot spots but is not nessarsary at that stage of tune

Just to comment that the old rs500 registrar Martin used to swear by them and claimed he noticed when it was removed temp wise. He was running around 350bhp I think.

They are designed to take the bubbles out of the cooling system and cut down on localised hot spots,Imo i would fit one for even a stg 1 engine tune

When fitting a swirl pot dont you need a different header tank with another pipe coming off it.
