Hi,
It's thereabouts the correct spec, the battery will have a code ending with three numbers.
On Sierras it is 085 on 1.6/1.8/2.0 petrol models 44AH 360-420CCA, depoending on type and make.
On sierras it is 099 on DIESEL 72AH and 640-680CCA again depending on make/type.
On sierras it is 092 on 2.8/2.9 55AH and 450-540CCA againdependant on make and type.
So if your battery is healthy it is more than up to it.
The 085/099/092 I quoted are std lead acid batteries, but in the 085 you can get a AGM battery which will be around 50AH but 900CCA, but also £145 or thereabouts.
Hope this helps if not get back, I always put the biggest heaviest(performance) one I can get on which is the diesel.
There are not many places making the FORD type terminal battery now as only ford used it and even they started with round terminals in 1993, 16 years ago, on the mondeo.
I would do a rapid discharge test on the battery when it has been charged up to see if faulty, if it has been stored ages whilst in a flat state it will suffer, as lead acid don't do this very well at all.

They do still do this terminal, just not ford, they are getting scarce, but go to,
[url]www.carbatteryshop.co.uk for a good deal, the VARTA BLUE range are awsome, but pole convertors from round to ford type are only normally £2.50 a pair.
