Default Boost Controllers..

Who runs one and which one is it..

I want to calm down that whack in the back with a controller, but confusin myself.

I used to run the Apexi AVCR on my S2, but there is no spd sensor on the saph' so the boost mapping for individual gears will not work..??

The Blitz looks ok, but needs the power ID as well to open the speed map function.

Or go for the Greddy Profec B, pretty simple with just 2 profiles and adjust the spool up properties. But then i may as well just have the hi-lo boost switch set up..lol

You could also use a simple on-off switch controlling the amal valve. Gives you high and low boost at very low costs.

There are FOUR speed sensoprs on the sapph cossie, the abs uses these, you should be able to patch into these, my ecu does.

Of course yea..

I'll look into that and see if* the ABS signal will do the job.

copied from the Apexi manual..

Y32 Cedric/Gloria :16
Y32 Cima :16
All other NISSAN vehicles :2
All other JAP' vehicles :4

no real clue as to what that means, id guess its pulses per wheel rotation..??

Im guessing the ABS hub has in excess of 30/40 pulses, or castleations..??

Might jus go for the hi-lo boost switch

If your map is allowing a boost spike then fitting a controller for the final boost will make it run rich in the mid range

who's chip what car??

I used to run a profect spec b but after fouling plugs due to rich in the mid i went back to the amal valve along with the spike

i've got a AVCR, and Fiecos Dan pointed out that stuff running EECiv uses a speed sensor and a cable. i'm using one off a mk7 escort, and the sapph cable goes straight onto the top

Ive only had the car 2wks, it has an MSD chip apparently, not sure which tho, will comfirm this when i take it upto B'pool for a set-up in a couple of weeks.

If i remember right, you can set the AVCR with the spike, flat, or a negative spike if that makes sense..?? Makes more sense when you see the set up graph.

Yea as i said, i ran the AVCR on my ols S2, was running that on EECIV. Cant remember if i ever got the controller set-up right tho, spd pulses etc.

What have you got yours set too & do you get a reasonably accurate reading for speed..??

cheers, Nik..

Right then from experience Stu maps with a spike to give more mid range torque and a little more power

Imo would be a good idea to run it past him first and if you buy a controller before he can fit it and set it up and if you want depending on price he can alter the chip to suit your requirement

Job done
