Default Head gasket problems :(

Well i saw some oil in cyl #2 the other day and now i notice the car is losing coolant (luckily i aint drove it for a few days)

Anyways, Im assuming its the head gasket (at least) so what am i gonna need to get to fix it? Head gasket, head bolts, oil, filter, t/belt... what else?

My mate is a mechanic and will do the job, but the quicker i get the parts, the quicker i get it back.

Bloody typical tho, im skint until i sell the Honda and it goes now

If it is the headgasket.............

Headgasket, best replacing with at least a group A one
Headbolts
Camcover gasket and 1/2moon seal
Oil/filter
Belt if it needs replacing and poss adjuster pulley if needed

Head might poss need a skim, its worth getting checked.

Also ur sig says coming soon stage 3, how many miles as it done?! if a few then to be honest you wanna get compression tests done b4 to see how rings etc are plus general health of all the engine seals etc. Also things like valve stem seals might be worth doing while the heads off cos their a pain to do with the head on!!

Nothing worse than doin just the headgasket to find out later other bits need doin, costs more but in long run doin it once works out cheaper

O forgot to say 4 x 4 h/g from woodford garage only 10 quid at mo. also get headbolts from there cos they come in nice 10 pack easier than loose from a ford parts dept. Get a cometic cam cover gasket cos there reusable the ford ones are junk and no cheaper. have a close look at ur cam belt turn it inside out and inspect u mite be ok , cos its bit of a pain to get the bottom pully off. if in doubt tho change it. Very good idea to replace the valve stem seals and lap the valves while the heads off itd be stupid not too.

cos ther bein duped mate. ask clint or wes on turbosport forum. jus ask for 4x4 h/gasket. Cosworth apparently make commision on grp a h/gasket but its identical to standard one. Ultimate h/gasket is multi layer but only buy the one from mountune as there are several on the market including cometics version.

most tuners insist on the 4 layer from mountune dunno why, especially when building monster bhp engines. Itd have to be a pretty special engine to justify the cost!.
