Default Ooppps ??

Just got my 2wd back from the garage after a cam-belt change and some other stuff. It was tapping away like hell, but told it was the lifters etc, and will be ok in time.
Well, in the 14mile trip home, the temp gauge shot right up ( i didn't give it a chance to get into the red) and i had to pull over, this happened three times. I was not giving it any right foot at all, as it didn't sound right.
Get home, and after a little inspection, its been found that on the bottom pulley, the timing has been set to the V groove, not the lug .
Am i likely to have caused any damage driving it like this??

Thanks.

I wouldn't touch it and take it straight back, if you mess with it, you'll hear no end of "you did it" excuses !!!

Its booked in to be done properly by someone else now.
I shall be having words with the garage that did it, if there is any long lasting damage, i will be seeking some money from them !!

I was just wondering if anyone else had this/done this, and what the outcome of their engine was?

Have seen and heard this on a couple of occasions and once it was set right all was ok, that was with skimmed heads aswell.
