Default refurbed rocker covers

i want my rocker cover refurbed black,any1 any ideas who could do it .
dont want to use SPEC-R as had issues with them before

do it your self mate; save some cash.

i done mine in audi laser red, looks good; 1 can from halfords!

did mine with crackle paint, am lucky as i have a milling machine at home so skimmed it across the top when painted

i got plasticoat (i think it's called from homebase) for the black colour, in spray bottle form on the main bit of the rocker cover, the blue for the ford bit then obviously red for the rest of the letters hand painted on.

for stripping i used the gooooowy sort of paint stripper, with a wire brush for totally removing the paint.

for cleaning the bare metal after the paint was stripped to remove ecses paint i used sugar soap, got rid of all the grease.

i put about 8 thin layers so it will take time.

i did get paint on the bare metal parts of the rocker cover (oop's) but i sanded it down with my sander and used a very fine sand paper afetrwards to finish it of with a nice shinny surface.

I just took mine to a local powder coaters then had it diamond cut back afterwards...looks ok imo.

Have a go yourself mate, nothing to lose!!

Try the black BBQ paint available from Do It All/Halfords/B&Q etc as theats temp resistant upto 400°C or something
