sapphire central locking problem
when i was building my car back up i caught the passenger side central locking motor arm in the window mechanism, the cl went mental till i figured out what was wrong, now the cl doesnt work,i traced it back to the fuse but every time i change it it blows.when i pop the fuse in i get a spark from the fuse connection nearest the scuttle panel,i have disconnected the plugs for all 4 doors and the boot and it still blows the fuse.when the fuse doesnt blow it locks and unlocks constantly till you pull the fuse out, which by then is very hot!anybody come across this before?cheers, lee

remove the plug to the motor in question and try then
the motor is cycling in and out as it can't close/open because the motors in the front doors are control motors (with 4 wires)
if the motor disconnection sorts the problem sorted, otherwise look further for a possible shor tin the door loom
remember to unplug the loom from theinside of the post, rather than inside the door to eleimate these problems

make shore you havent got a wire trapped in the window mechanism shorting out.
sounds like it cud be this cause its thinking to lock & unlock like its bein powerd all the time.
i had this on my old cab & it was shorting out were the wires went fron the door to the a piler.
good look with it mate

Might sound obvious, but you'v deffo unplugged the central locking?????Not electric windows
Strange problem, usaully as said above the loom breaking down going into the doors from the pillars
Have you got remote central locking off your alarm fob?????
Could be prob with this
Had trouble with mine, locking and unlocking when ever you plugged drivers door motor in,was a earth wire broken in loom.
Converted my 2wd saph to 4x4 central locking, alot better system

the boot motors have the bullet connectors on them just in case you were thinking you could use the other motors
and the later motors come complete with cable assembly and you also need to reverse the polarity of the locks triger wires as they lock/unlock theopposite way around
you might also find that parts of the door obstruct the mechanism, but nothing that a drift and a hammer won't solve

fixed it last night, the plunger you push in to open the boot was very sticky, the spring couldnt push it back out far enough for the lock lever to operate and lock the boot, got it sorted with some patience and some wd-40,didnt need the hammer unfortunately!
