Default enlarge throotle body

I like to enlarge throotle body

I have a swedish plenum and a BD10 cam and I like to maximize the air entry

original size is 56mm

you can go to 60mm easily

my problem :
rebuild the throttle body flap in 60mm or find an other throotle body with a 60mm flat and use it

any idea for a car with a 60mm flap ??

sorry to jump on your post here but maybe your question should be is there a larger throttle body i can use????

i to would be interested to know what other throttle bodies could be used either with a standard plenum or a swedish one and what has to be done for them to work???

Other ones that have been used are BMW and Ford Mustang, without too much work.
Mustang can go up to 88mm!!

Don't quote me on this, but there's an old Jaguar XJ6 or similar on eBay at the moment - in the advert it says it's throttle body can be used as an upgrade for a Cossie.

One of those annoying cars that comes up when you search for Cosworth and click on Cars, but that's where I saw it about 2 days ago.

what modification should I make

do I need a remap

or the ECU calculate the pressure inside the plenum

so no remap needed when I fit a bigger TB

At what stage of tune does this kind of thing make a difference? Is it only for 600bhp monsters or is this worth doing on lesser beasts?

It will defo NEED A REMAP, if using a larger component like a TB, as for benefit, not much unless at mega power levels, because forced induction.

i doubt that you would need a remap at most states of tune as the TB will probably not be a restriction

however, you may have to have the settings for the transient fuelling adjusted as a change in throttle angle sensed by the TPS will equate to a different pressure drop across the throttle plate

i.e. if you snap open the throttle 20 degrees on the bigger throttle, you will be letting in more air than with the original throttle os that will need more fuel squirting in with it immediately so that you do not get a flat spot before the pressure difference is sensed by the MAP sensor and accounted for

I amy be wrong, but i think the standard throttle body is fine for that? I think the restriction is in the throttle elbow rather than the throttlebody?

I'd concentrate on other areas mate, like mentioned it'll only provide benefits at huge power levels.
