Default Swirl pot problem

I have just fitted a new swirl pot and header tank and now i dont have any heat from the heater. The hose from the pot to the engine block gets hot but the hose from the pot to the top of the radiator stays cold. The hose from the bottom of the radiator is also cold. The bleed pipe from the top of the swirl pot is retuning hot water though. I have renewed the thermostat too.Im lost Any ideas ?
