Default L8 ecu chip / board fitting

I have a l8 ecu and a Bayjoo stage 3 chip on a board. The socket in the ecu has 14 holes on each side where as the plug coming off the board only has 12 pins on each side. I have been assured that the chip / board is correct for the ecu. Do I fit the plug into the ecu with the spare holes at one side or do I fit it in the centre of the socket?

Thanks

Thanks for the replys. So with the ecu sitting as pictured above the blue connection should fit in the socket with the spare holes to the top (near the corner of the ecu) or at the bottom (near the middle of the ecu) ?
