hi. i have a nearly brand new scorpion stainless exhaust system 3 inch bore from turbo to the back box then 4 inch tail pipe.
it has a middle box that i was thinking of cuting out but i am unsure as to wether it would cause running prolems do to loss of back pressure???
any ideas?

You can´t have to low back pressure on a turbocharged car!
If the car won´t get to loud remove the middle box!

My m8 did it to his Scorpion on saph,was very loud

Scorpion system have got a small backbox,and a bigger middlebox,so they are loud if middle box removed.
My Mongoose has had the middle box removed,but the mongoose has a big back box and a small middle box,so not as loud as a scorpion

IMO Scorpion is too loud with middle box removed,all depends how loud you like your car though

 

I've got the middle box cut out of mine, with a 4 inch tail, sounds lush, I think it just amplifies the sweet song of a cossie and sure does sound good on idle or when launching hard

i did this to mine, was a bit louder, but not unbearable no effect on power or reliability if thats what you're worried about.

 

On the mongoose system arent there 2 middle boxes?? I want my exaust note louder so wi one can i get rid off??

lmao sorry i just done my g.f's fiesta a week ago, thats got 2 boxes in the middle i think then.

So if i take out the middle mox, it makes the exhaust note louder, does this fail the MOT emissions test or anything? Also how do you reconnect the pipe? Just weld and clamp?

Bought some stainless pipe for mine from Demon Tweeks,then had it stainless welded

Can see it on this pic,ignore the cats eye damage on the exhaust

 

are they standard bars welded to your exhaust holding it up??

 

I have a brand new blue flame one on mine ( mongoose really ) and i nearly tore the centre box of on a huge speed bump its all dented now and im gont take it out, i used to have a twin magnex and i had both box`s off that to, i was alot louder than my blue flame but when i get the centre box removed it should be the same, i like it cos my neibours are arse hole`s who dont like my car anyway and i just love starting it at 6.00 in the morning

 

my magnex system has

3inch pipe from manifold to..

2 boxes parrellel to each other then the two pipes that leave them join into one at the end of my exhaust

Yeah,they are usaully welded to the middle box

Had stainless bolts welded to the ends where they go through poly mounts,no chance of it popping off the mounts now

 

i have removed the centre silencer from my scorpion system but now it is 109 decibels at 4500rpm so fails most noise limits at trackdays !
