Went for a RR recently but unfortunately there was a top end misfire so couldn't be revved over 4900 but the torque figures were 391 ft/lbs. Its sorted now and would expect power to be around 370-380.

whats your running now then, need to find out what my turbo is, it came from p.t.s stage 2, 360 bearing, hybrid, but as I wanna run 375bhp, need to no what I will need, already have 3 bar, 803s, rs 500 60mm core intercooler, braether, swirl pot, and has been built low comp, looking to hold 24psi. so will be intresting to see what it makes. Anyone have any rough estimates.

Dan,

I believe it has a lot to do with how the engine makes it power rather than how much ‘peak’ power it has. When I race it I only rev it to 6,500 and on the gear changes it drops back to 4,800 to 5,000 depending on witch gear I’m changing to. Also because I don’t need to rev the engine hard to make power (7,000 rpm +) my average torque will be better.

I have compared the power curve to other Cossie engines with similar ‘peak’ power but they don’t have anywhere near the same mid range power and I think this is why it runs good ET’s / MPH for what it is.

I would be really interested to know what times and MPH people have run vs there power outputs?

Thanks for your comments

Hi folks,

You will have to excuse my memory on this one but I though I would add my RWD sapp cozzy I owned and sold in 2001. This is as best as I remember.

Greys.
3 bar map sensor.
Low comp Mahle Pistons.
Group A Head bolts.
Group A gaskets.
360 Deg T34 turbo with oversized bell housing and modified (cut back) blades.
Specially profiled cams designed for the engine.
RS500 intercooler.
2.4 bar holding 2.2 bar at max RPM. (about 34 psi).
Modified wastgate.
Strengthened Block.
Custom map.
The usual swirl pot and other chrome stuff under the bonnet.

430bhp it was an animal back in 2001 and still the fastest car I have owned upto say 150Mph.

Wish I still had it apart from the running cost It used to eat itself on a regular basis.
