Having just discovered that the wedge bulbs I bought don't fit the cigarette lighter unit I wondered if anyone knows what I should be looking for. As it so happens the bulbs I bought are T10 size (according to the box) and looking through the Mondeo manual I discovered I should have a glove-compartment light which uses these! There I discovered the bulb broken in its socket and extracted it, replaced it and now I do have a really up-market Mondeo! But the Manual has nothing to say about the Cigar Lighter bulb. Having removed the lighter Unit, which includes a small beaker/bottle holder, I was able to access the underside of the bulb housing and extract the bulb. It is a 'wedge' fitting - i.e. has no cap rather like Xmas tree lights - but is only 185mm long X just short of 50mm diameter (measured with a micrometer!) Those T10's also fit the 'High brake light fitting' in the tail-gate. Michael (UK)
