Default Steaming up issues

As above really,I have a 2005 sttdci and its terrible for steaming up constantly, there's obviously water getting in somewhere which is making it damp inside, nothing obvious though. Anybody know if they are prone to letting in water anywhere or have any ideas???

Cheers

If the carpets are dry it could be around the rear lights. Have a look in the spare wheel well for water.

How do you use your heater controls.

Lol sorry bud, read that wrong the 1st time. Realised what you meant when I looked again. Doesn't matter how I set them its always the same, mostly in the rear windows though so the wheel well might be a shout.

My mondeo is also the same. It's always steamed up in the morning. In wet weather the fan needs to be on windscreen nearly all the time to stop it misting up! The carpets etc are dry so not too sure where it's coming in.

Yes use ac and turn heat up but dont recerc air, its to do with humidity,
My ST never mists up no matter what the weather,
Turn ac off and it will, always blow air to screen and have center airvents open when raining and just increase fan to suit and adjust heater turn to get a nice setting.

Give the windows a clean on the inside also as its easier to mist a dirty window.

Windows inside are spotless, I've never needed to use a/c in the damp weather to keep the windows clear on any other car. The fan is always on position 1 with vents open so there is always plenty of fresh air movement in the car. Not too sure why the windows are wringing wet nearly every morning!

You will deff need the ac when its raining, just regulate the heat to keep the temp nice.

mondeos are well known for leaks around doors and the door membranes, also the pollen filter is prone to getting damp so may be worth checking that and the plastic trim above it that butts up to he windscreen.
Around the tailgate and lights are another common area

Update - I noticed the footwell in the rear drivers was slightly damp when hoovering last week so I checked all around it and decided to strip to door panel to check the membrane as suggested above, the membrane was badly torn and not attached at the bottom and the bottom of the door had a few mm of water in it. I dried the door and repaired and reattached the membrane and thought I was 'home and dry' unfortunately not!!! It's still exactly the same so next weekend all door panels are coming off and the interiors coming out so I can get to the bottom of it. It's driving me insane and putting me off the car if you know what I mean.
I have checked the rear light seals and they're good, I've also changed the pollen filter last week when I serviced it and it all seemed ok there too.
Will update you all ASAP. Even if it ends up in a for sale thread lol
