Default Remap st tdci

Im sure this has been asked lots of times before but just wondered what peoples preferences were with remapping st tdci. got one as a daily car and wanting bit more poke, dont wanna spend load cos the cossie takes enough of my money lol are these diesel boxes worth a go?always been bit dubious about them??also what sort of power gains and mpg people seeing?

Get a proper remap, I'd steer clear of tuning boxes - They do 'work' but fool the engine into chucking more fuel in, which isn't a wise idea on a car with notoriously fragile injectors.

Cheers mate. Yes thats what I thought i've heard too many bad things bout them. Thinking maybe best to play safe and stick with bluefin.

He a decat pipe fitted first, vey cheap and you will notice the difference even before the map

Remap decat air filter and inter cooler get really good gains and not that expensive either

Yes i wouldnt mind getting decat and intercooler in time aswell.trouble is all my spare cash goes on the cossie!!lol

If you get a decat ain't it now for mot time it's checked it is there?
If that's the case get a decat but with a fake cat for visual check.

No - This only applies to cars that are subject to a full emisisons test (i.e. petrol cars) Diesels aren't tested for emissions so don't need to have a CAT!

No diesel will fail because of a decat.

I know they don't have an emissions test but what I meant was don't they have to check that one is fitted if it had one fitted from factory? (visual check it's still there) so although it's not checked on emissions it can fail for not having one fitted.

New mot rules or checked on cars produced from a certain date?
