Default Fuel Injectors

I posted a few weeks back about the glow plug light on my car.

I replaced the accelerator and sensor and that didnt fix the problem. Unfortunately turns out its all four injectors gone.

I have been quoted quite alot so I am trying to source the injectors myself.

I have found 4 but the part number is different. The part number on my delphi injectors is R00501Z and the ones I have found for sale are R00101Z. The person selling them has assured me they will be ok for my car.

I dont want to go ahead and buy them if its going to be wrong as although alot cheaper than I have been quited, its still expensive.

Can anybody help me with this?

No, they won't fit the're a different shape, plus are earlier 'inferior' ones. 101Zs can be swapped for the 303Zs as they have a long nozzle and thin body, all the others have shorter nozzles and bigger bodies.

Thanks Dan, so I really need to just stick to the part number on my old ones (501z)?

Yes. Unfortunately injector issues are never cheap! If you're feeling brave get yourself one of these, one of these, source your injectors and do it yourself!

It says on the injector body. You can see the code (it will be along with a bunch of other numbers, the 501z bit is at the end). You'll need a small mirror, or take a pic with a camera phone.

Just out of interest do you have to use an injector socket? The reason why i ask is because the delphi injectors have the fuel feed from the top so i don't see the need for a window in the socket.

You don't have to, but you'll need a very long reach socket. I thought I'd be ok, but ended up buying one.
