Howdy chaps!

Got a quick question. My Brother is rebuilding his ST220 engine, and needs some information. He needs to know the cylinder head torque sequence. He already has the torque settings information, but needs the sequence itself.

Anyone know it?

Just work your way from the middle outwords going clockwise ,

 

i would go roughly like this as most heads seem to be like this these days and i do ALL heads like this regardless lol!

8 4 2 6 10

 

You can't do that on the Duratec 25's/30's mate, you would warp them.

 

Pretty much spot on, not sure on the pattern used with 8 bolts though.

Thanks for your help guys, but I think I might leave it until tomorrow and look on Autodata instead. I can appreciate what you are trying to say about going clockwise, but trust me, it would not work on the D25/30 Engines. If I was to do it how you guys say, the head would warp slightly and I would be left with that stupidly annoying head gasket "tick" noise that is common on the D25/30's.

Mate, seriously. It would not work! I would rather do it properly instead of cutting corners.

 

it would be one of the first heads ive heard of in 15 years of doing them that you cant do in pretty much the pattern i showed you but ill check auto data tommorow to confirm
