Default FAO of Fiddy or other v6 mondingo peeps

today whilst driving passed parked cars in the st24 i noticed a ticking coming from the car whils under load, it dont seem to do it when its not being driven so cant seem to find where its coming from, also it cant be heard after about 2k revs but i dunno if this is because its drown out by the road noise or because it stops, its a bit of a fucker really as ive only just put it up for sale, typical, still id rather it happened to me then sell it an a week later get grief over it, any info much appreciated

thanx in advance

liam

Exhaust manifold gasket mate. mine has a little tick under load in first gear, but if you rev it at idle, no tick at all ?. if its the head gasket tick, it will even tick at idle

Does it do it when its warm? Mine only ticks above 3000 revs when shes hot, doesnt do it when its cold. Ive got a nasty dry bearing noise coming from the top belt side of mine, any idea what that is ? lol

carl that idel pulley is easy just one bolt however theres little room to get to it so you need to move the wire plugs an bracket to get to it and the bearing i think is a 6202 or 6203 bearing drift it out drift new one in ,or buy my spare one.

The tick noise on Fiddys was defo the front exhaust manifold gasket.I know this cause i was sat on his engine trying to find the noise whist he was driving the car back and forth lol.
