know of a couple who have done it themselves, meant to be rite cunt of job, that leaves you with a lot of scraped knuckles and cuts on your hand. anything down the backside of that engine gona be a cunt of a job though. good luck.

The power steering is a c**t of a job but it is possible on a drive just bloody difficult.

The rubber splitter is actually a Cupra R splitter and cost less than £20 from Seat. Piece of cake to fit as well but getting very very common now. My estate was the first one to have one fitted but along with removing the inner morette lens and moving the battery to the boot (also firsts on my estate) they are also common!!!!!!

Over four years since I first did mine!!!!!!!!

I dont use a garage much in mine as I prefer to do the work myself but then again I do run a pair of them. My estate with one or two mods and 243bhp and then the missus'w hatch with 220 bhp.

They are a piece of cake to change the discs and pads on. the special tool is for winding the rear calipers back in but you do it with a pair of long nosed pliers just as easily.

yes mate, nick at ST Solutions, he's a good mate of mine. i was actually at his place yesterday picking up a decat. the amount of 200's he has in for breaking is ridiculous, there is 4 outside his house, and another 4 or 5 in his unit. he has a 200LTD in for breaking aswel, i want the interior out of it, but i wont be paying what he wants for it lol

Aye, discs and pads are easy. just changed all of mine for the mot, had a sticky caliper on the back that was a bit of a chew on, even with the tool, it took some winding in.

Pretty much mate, especially if it is engine, bolt, or pipe related. power steering pipes are a cunt, break pipes can be, and bolts are an absolute cunt to get out, when they are suspension related, they either refuse to move, or the heads snap off the bolts, hence the 7 hours it took to lower mine.
