Default st cutting out

Morning guys, i'll appologise just now for the length of this post, but i really need help here.

my 06 plate focus st2 has broken down, about 2 weeks ago she was really low on fuel when i left my wife's parents in wick, on driving the car the 5 miles to the petrol station it started mis firing like mad, the computer showed the following messages:

esp system fault, power steering fault, speed limiting mode and the engine management light came on.

so with no turbo pressure and the car running like crap we limped into the petrol station, i thought because it was low on fuel it was maybe a bit of crap in the system, so i filled it to the brim, started it and it was fine, we then proceeded to drive from wick to glasgow and it never missed a beat!

wife called me today, exact same problem but car is 3/4 full of petrol.

anyone any ideas?

First of all - make sure it's not a problem with the ecu. Go to a dealer and let them delete all saved messages. When you've still got this problem... probably the fuel pump got too hot when it ran low on fuel...
