Guys, gals etc....
Bought an 03 plate ST170, all going well, one week later hit the gas in second, once it got to 3500/4000rpm I lost power and and the engine was kangarooing until I changed up, it did this again in 4th gear, not sure if its a miss fire, however when I accelorate in normal urban streets through the gears its fine......any suggestions??

Cheers Rich170, I have taken it to a ford garage and they have said that it maybe the coyle pack, they have said that it sits under the transmission and it interrupting the gears, which is dropping revs, miss-firing and making me change up to soon.............does that sound like a possibility mate?

Coil pack under the transmission? Shome mishtake there I think, it sits to the right of the cylinder head and has 4 plug leads coming off it. Coil packs do give problems on other models but not as much on yours for some reason, easy way to check is take it off, turn the coil pack over and see if there's any signs of burning/blackening. As said mate these are more prone to fuel supply problems, the pump and also the module that control it under the rear seat need to be tested.
