Digital Rev Counter in XR3i Help please
I am trying to put a digital Rev counter into my MK4 Cabriolet which has the old Mechanical fuel injection system on it( the engine and loom are post 86). The old rev counter works fine but when I connect the digital counter it is fluctuating really badly and wont settle down, I can only assume the original has some sort of suppressor built in and this one dosent, Can anyone help me and let me know how to get the digital counter to work properly.

So long as the digi tacho didn't com,e from a coilpack equipped car then it will read right once working.
It sounds as though it may be getting a weak signal, you can get signal amplifiers, such as Emeralds tacho driver, I use one myself on my K3 ecu, 01953 889110.

The Rev counter is made for any standard engine of either 2/4/6/8 cylinders controlled via dip switches but for some reason it will not steady itself on my escort. I have checked the signal and it appears strong enough and as prieviously mentioned the original tacho does work fine. So any suggestions please.
