ive told ford to take the tank off and have a look also get as much gunk out of the tank as possible but ford are addiment that the mondeo zetec-s with 130hp has no pump in the tank

If it's got swarf in the tank the whole system will be contaminated, and you will achieve nothing by flushing it out.
If it's cutting out and smoking then the problem lies at the engine end, not with the fuel tank.

right sorry for being a long time replying, ive sent the car to another garage , my mate works their , hes going to look at it like nothing been done on it and start new. also he said he aint going to give me crap like , replacing stuff for no reason like ford did, and he said hes going to be honest and if its screwed he'll give me a price for it as scrap and i'll get a new one because im fed up. he also said if he can sort it he'll do it as cheap as possible. unlike ford... i had to pay over Ł1300 to get the car out of the garage. i phoned the help line and they said i would pay before you get in trouble, which for a company that big is usless information.

been to the garage today and they say the car is dead. my mate said as the pumps been disaggregating the tiny metal fillings have stuck to the side of the cylinders and have the pistons have been going up and down the pistons have left scars. he showed me with a camera on the end of a stick he put it in where the the injectors should go and showed me on his computer. He said they tried to do a compression test. he thought it would just pull threw, but it hasnt. so theirs no compression in 2/4 cylinders. and i asked how much is an engine, he replied it aint worth it. I also said about this website and showed him what one of you put about the pump disaggregating. he said if its doing that type of damage their should be a recall. but i cant do it all on my own. so my cars dead just thought i would inform you.
