diagnosis via OBD Scan advice
Hi, Got hold of a KA as a run around, it's been pulling back with low/med revs then the engine management light came on, OBD as follows....
Top to bottom
In Red - P0420 - Powertrain - Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)
P1632 - Powertrain - Theft deterrent - fuel disabled
P0302 - Powertrain Cylinder 2 misfire Detected
any advice on what steps to take gratefully welcomed! Thanks

In simple terms, your car has a misfire on cylinder 2 (P0302), and been driven like it more than a period in time. In turn has ruined the cat (P0420) by pouring unburnt fuel from the misfire into it.
Have never seen P1632 before. (edit - with that description)
Misfire could be plugs/leads or coil pack. Check plugs/check if spark from lead.
When the misfire is fixed, you'll still have the P0420 until the cat is replaced.
Is it an endura early 1300 ohv with silver/green rocker cover or rocam (duratec) black rocker cover ohc engine? What year?

P1632 - Smart Alternator Faults Sensor / Circuit
What are you using to read the codes? Because P1xxx are manufacturer specific.
For the rest see above with one addition:
Misfire can be caused by mixture faults, like a defective injector.

I'm using an OBD Scan bluetooth tool paired with Torque

Usually if an injector/circuit fault you get a specific DTC for that. 03 Ka had an issue with water ingress into PCM loom and can corrode PCM connector, I had one in at work recently with 3 injector circuit codes because of this. On some build date Ka the dash has to be removed to remove the PCM though.
Ah, Smart charge fault, does the battery light go off then come back on? check the wiring to the 3 pin plug on alternator, remove it, see if it's corroded. or wiring broken to 3 pin plug, there is a repair loom available for Transit Connect 1.8 TDCI that can be adapted for Ka. In some cases the alternator connector itself is corroded and requires alternator to be replaced - which is fun on these as the inlet manifold/front bumper/arches have to be removed to gain access.
There is a fuse on the top side of the fuse box for the smart charge circuit that requires the fuse box to be removed to access.

Part no. for repair loom Ford finis 1421293
It's officially a sub loom that plugs into a connector on the radiator shroud of Transit Connect, but can be adapted to repair the Smart charge loom on various Fords.
