My 54 Plate, St170 stopped running and am looking for a part.
Brought it to my local mechanic, and says its the Vanos Unit on the inlet Camshaft. ( or Advance Retard Unit ) picture attached. Its not turning with the camshaft.
He said the part is hard to come by as ford don't make it any more.
There must be a million of these lying around in breakers yards. You can buy complete "crate" engines from Ford of many engines so have a good google in case someone has a load, even if Ford stopped making them I expect there is a stock pile.
Hi, I bought a used engine for the block and valve springs the rest of the head and cams are no use to me, condition totally unknown but if you want to give them a go then let me know, will happily give them away as they were going in the bin.
