Default Capri blue paint

I'm having a little welding work done on my car and once it's finished I wanted to rust proof it, then paint over it. The one thing I'm trying to find is some rattle can paint in Capri blue. I've tried a few auto specialist outlets but none have it even listed.

Is my only option to have some made up or does anyone known of a near match, as most of it won't be on show.

Many thanks.

Don't think many places will stock something that old these days. I have a blue and silver 2.8 and needed some blue paint to tidy up under bonnet and in the boot. Went to a local car paint supplier and and he still had sample charts going back to the 70s. We matched it with calypso blue I think and also cross checked using Google . He then made me a large rattle can up for about 10 or 12 quid and it's not a bad match at all.

Could try the store called the Range usually on out of town retail parks, in one a few months and had allsorts of old ford pain. A rare colour on a ST nearly bought one a few years back fully loaded even had the recaro leather, could kick myself sure to be a classic how many have been broken.

Probably a daft question, but do ford not it any more?

I got a rattle can of performance blue for mine from ford a few months back without any issue.

I have had aerosols mixed to the paint code before, they are a bit hit and miss as to the quality and colour match. The genuine ford aerosols are good but as said quite small, however if you are painting an area larger than what one of these cans can do, an aerosol job probably isn't the best option!
