Hi guys ive seen a Focus ST3 for sale with a Collins stage 2 mods setup etc but its 106000 miles on a 58 reg. Just a bit concerned really of how much reliable the unit is I know the Volvos are good for high miles generally should I have any concerns cheers. Anything to ask or check if I view it ?

 

Mine had 105k and just been model to 330 bhp an 389 lb I drove it like it was stolen with 112k 3 years ago and now it's on 146k still going strong

 

Wouldn't consider that high mileage tbh.


Id rather buy one that's on 108k that's been looked after then one on 50k that's been neglected.


They are pretty strong motors from what I hear so I wouldn't worry too much

 

my buddy has a st3 with 465k on it and it drives like new

 

Wow that's seen a few petrol stations.

Its all down to servicing.

Make sure the engine has had the cylinder blocl mod.

 

Holy moley! I've never been one to fret about big miles (all 3 of my vehicles where purchased with 100k+ on clock) but 465k - now that I would like to see! In all seriousness, I've love to see the condition of a half the million miler that has been looked after.

no doubt, used a sales rep car for first 4 years of its life leased by hertz and had 324k when it was sold in 2011, but was maintained very well and bought for steal price of £3100 at auction, the guy who now owns it uses and abuses it big time expecting it to go bang but it just keeps going, once it hits 500k he will be chuffed, as for triggers broom the front is a defo as its has 2 bonnets and a few bumpers in its time but engine is OE
