ST170 Clutch
Hi lads, just wondering what peoples opinions are on clutches and flywheels for an ST170?
I have the car just under two years and finally decided to join a forum!!
The clutch isn't slipping or anything yet but since I've owned the car I've been suspicious of it. The biting point is very high and a slight shudder now and again.
When I bought the car I dropped it into Ford to get the timing belt and water pump fitted and they mentioned it to me that I should put a bit of money away for a clutch.....2 years later and she is still going.
It's a 04 and I have recently put a few euro into her
-New shocks
-Drop links
-Anti roll bars
-New disc pads
-Service
-Tyres (next week)
-Clutch master cyclinder
-Thermostat housing
-Inlet manifold pipes
So i was thinking next thing would be a clutch at some stage as it has 107,000 miles on the original clutch.
Appreciate any opinions.
Also any recommended tyres?
Thanks.

clutches on these cars are mostly a killer as I break st170s, when owners are faced with a £800 ish bill for a clutch most walk away cutting their loses which is where I come in and dismantle them, and if any other issues like the IMRC and lambdas are playing up that also contributes towards a 170 getting scrapped, tyres is a personal choice but if you want safety stick with reputable brands but a lot of the choice comes down to how you drive it and the expected type of weather it will face regular
