Hi people i have a 2003 focus st170 and it is completly standard as was told remapping is bout all u can do.I looked in2 it and found a person that says i will get 200 bhp as the car is standard.That seems alot but should i expect that or what should i get.I should say that im new 2 cars.

You could spend all the money in the world tuning it and you might be lucky to see 10 extra bhp. In N/A form they are pretty well tuned as standard so aftermarket modifications will not gain much.

 

As above, they're quite highly strung from the factory so other than going down the forced induction route, gains will be minimalistic.

 

Super chips claim 12hp more with a remap and there is a first ford article about a adjustable cam pulley swap that costs around £100'and will give 10hp extra so wouldn't be far off the 200 your after for about £400.

 

Never believe claimed figures from tuning companies. The most I have heard of is 185bhp, that's with a full exhaust system, remap, breathing mods, underdrive pulleys etc etc. All in a couple of grands worth.

 

Bearing in mind the ST170 was never 170bhp from the factory, a remap on a N/A vehicle wont produce 30+ BHP.
