Default Water pump failure...I think

Honestly can my problems just not stop with this car !!

Ok I'll let the last one go because it was the wire but come on, please god give it up

I'm now getting this noise -

coming from the engine bay, I've also smelt burning rubber which made me think something is wrong

The burning smell came first for the past few days, it was only tonight the car started making those strange noises

Guys can anyone help me if you have had this fixed? and by running it without getting it fixed bad??

What am I looking for cost wise?

I'm kicking myself, I just had the service done with the belts renewed

was looking at these 2 pumps:

Circoli Water PumpPart Nos.: 201590211 at £19.92 or

KWP Water PumpPart Nos.: 201590215 at £35.94

It isn't necessarily the water pump. What you can do is get a long screwdriver, carefully put the tip on the various pumps and pulleys that you can reach and put your ear to the other end of the screwdriver. This will amplify the noise and help you pinpoint where it is coming from.

Good thinking mate, although the smell of burn and the noise

Is that not an indication that its the water pump?

Been reading about the Engine Coolant etc in the car ford manual

At least ill get a warning before anything serious might happen, if the light comes on ill stop

Let the car cool down and take it to a garage

there isn't any leaking anyway

If the cambelt has been changed they should have changed the waterpump too? Or at least thats usual common practice as the waterpump sits behind the cambelt.

Burning rubber smell.... Some belt slipping or worse, if the new cambelt has been over tensioned? not sure on the tensioner configuration on these so maybe auto tensioner?
Where did you have the work done, i would have it back there ASAP for them to take a look over it, dont take any chances, last thing you want is for the engine to go pop!!

Sorted the noise, the power steering pump was all bunged up with thick fluid, ran a few flushes

He also looked at the timing belt, he had to sort something out there too....think he had to tighten it a bit more
