Default lightend fly problem st170

hi there i need some help.. im at my wits end! i got a padal clutch an lightend flywheel for my st170 from som1 on hear, its from .cfm so it says its for a svt/st170 all fits an evrything but an start up it give off a horrible ring gear noise, sounds like the ring gear an the starter motor gear dont match up :-s however once the car is running evrything els is fine.. its just on start up. took the flywheel back out and it looks like the gears are to close? has any one herd of this problem befor ? was alos thinking of bying a svt starter motor, maybve the ring gear is diffrent to the uk one? cant work it out.

maybe contact cfm? if it is for the svt and not the 170 (you'd think they are common but knowing ford they are different)

If they confirm they are common then maybe there is another issue?

You sure that your Starter motor is not at fault. There should not be a difference between the SVT and ST170. I had a SVT lightened fly fitted to my ST170 with no problems at all. If your starter is not disengaging enough it may be making the noise you describe. The starter motors are prone to problems on the ST170 as they sit quite close to the cat and get very hot

Put a Helix Autosport Flywheel, Clutch and pressure plate on, (full kit) brilliant setup no issues and done a few races with it to & still going strong. DMF weight 26lb Helix 11.4lbs, goes like a train.
