Default Recommend a code scanner for ST170

Can anyone recommend a cheap engine code reader, that will work on a st170, I've bought one off ebay, but it won't scan, something to do with protocol,

Any info would be appreciated

If you can pick up a secondhand Bluefin handset (you can pick up "non reset" ones without maps on them cheap sometimes online) that will work on the ST170 it will work/ give you the codes

The one I used has model d900 2012 written on it, I used a mates scan gauge last week to get the codes up and do a repair, but the lights back on again, so thought I may aswel get my own scanner

Did you manage to get the D900 2012 working with your ST170? After seeing this post i bought one off eBay but it says it cannot connect to the car then rescans.

Have a look on eBay and anything that can read SAE J1850 PWM will work on your ST170.

When searching go to Advanced and tick the box that says Search title and description.

I would also recommend getting one from the UK rather thanks China or Hong Kong.
