Hi guys been havin a few issues with the focus for a few months now started with a dodgey idle which sounded like a miss which has now developed into the car dying when being drove, its really frustrating as it didn't do it all the time but now has got worst the car won't go beyond 5000 rpm at times it cuts out like it hits the limiter followed by jerking then the car will just cut out an die and won't restart,I've had the AA out twice in one day yesterday as the car died soon as I drove off the drive not to restart the car was just in the red but no light the AA man put a full can of petrol in an still no go he tested everything under the bonnet no probs apparently then he checked the pump which he could hear powering up he pushed the clip in the top of the pump and it fired up then he tested the current to the pump and didn't think it was drawing enough to pump and came to the conclusion it was faulty wiring or the pump was on it's way, anyway thought it was sorted had to make a 5 mile trip which on the way back the car cut out again and wouldnt restart,so called them out again this time the guy reckoned I didn't have enough fuel in (even though I wasn't in the red at all) as I disconnected underneath an send it wasnt sendin as it should, so he put another can of petrol in and it fired up again, I'm of the conclusion now that this pump is knackered and the car will only run with only over a quarter of a tank anything less and it dies and this has been the cause of the miss fire I've been getting at the start and think I'm gonna have to bite the bullet an get a replacement as I've changed everything else with no joy and it's getting worst anybody can help it would be appreciated cheers
