timing belt aux belt?
Hello everyone
today i changed the oil and sparks and that solved my hesitation problem. However i have been hearing an unhealthy sound from the engine. I listened and it sounds like the bearings are going on what i think is the water pump.
however i am having difficulty finding an st170 engine diagram, bit i have found a picture of one and a video. i have attached the picture and need some help identifying things on it.
from the video it is telling me that the st170 engine uses a timing chain to attach the top and bottom of the engine and then the water pump, alternater etc is run usuing an aux belt. Reading peoples comments on here though are telling me that the aux belt is actually a timing belt. However i cant understand this as the belt only connects to the bottom of the engine and not the top.
can someone help with the above and also help to annotate the pic i have attached please..

this is my thinking in terms of the pic
number 1 on the pic , what is this? this is what is leaking and making noise - i think
number 2 is the crank shaft and run by a timing chain?
number 3 is the aux belt
number 4 water pump
number 5 dont know
number 6 bottom of enging
number 7 is tensioner
number 8 is another tensioner?
number 9 is alternator
can someone please check my thinking above? is this an ax belt that i can take off without effecting the engine timing. what is number 1 that looks like it is leaking?
thanks for you help in advance

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
ST170 engine is the same as any blacktop zetec in regards to timing belt , there is no timing chain
on your picture
1 = air con compressor
2 = top timing belt cover
3 = poly v drive belt
4 = power steering pump
5 = water pump
6 = crank pulley
7 = idler pulley
8 = belt tensioner
9 = alternator
as per the pic one belt drives all these items , you can take it off and run it for a minute or so just to see if the noise goes away and check for movement at air con compressor while its off , if noise is still there then will be timing belt tensioner or idler
