Hi everyone just joined and looking for a bit of advice i'm gonna replace the sump on my focus i've got new sump,gasket,sealant ect ready but wondered how easy it was also the thermostat is leaking so gonna change that aswell....???

 

i think its pretty easy to be honest mate, jst get on with it. thermostat housing too.

thermostat might just be leaking from the little plug in the bottom of it though so check that first.

 

You'll need to drop the exhaust down too.... And you may find the sump stuck to the block, will need a bit of persuasion to get it off!

 

Hi and thanks for advice guys do I need to take thermostat off to check for leaking plug and with regards to the sump is it the cat pipe onto the manifold that has to be dropped and do I need a exhaust gasket???
